Contrac Lighting is a genuine UK manufacturer. Not an importer, not an assembler, a manufacturer. Since 1986, we have designed and built luminaires from raw sheet steel at our factory in Goole, East Yorkshire. Four decades on, that has never changed.
Everything under one roof
Every Contrac luminaire begins as flat steel on our factory floor. We design, punch, press, form and weld each body ourselves, then powder coat, wire and test every unit before it leaves the building. Total control of the process means total control of quality — and it means that when a project demands something that does not exist in a catalogue, we can build it.
That capability is rare. Most lighting companies buy in and badge up. We make.
Bespoke is our standard
Because we own every stage of manufacture, bespoke is not a premium service for us it is simply how we work. From one-off architectural pieces for luxury retail environments to high volume runs for industrial estates, schools and hospitals, our engineers work directly with specifiers, contractors and end clients to deliver lighting engineered precisely to the space, the task and the budget.
Our luminaires carry first brand components from longstanding partners including Philips and Tridonic, so the technology inside matches the build quality outside.
