Everlast Fitness Club Shirebrook

Background

A fast-growing player in the UK fitness industry, Everlast Fitness Clubs stand out by offering a high-end consumer experience. With customer ‘Wow-factor’ at the centre of their brief, the facilities they offer are of the highest standards, in terms of both equipment and environment. Conscious of the importance of light and design in their gyms, Everlast gave Contrac Lighting the role of designing their entire lighting systems, throughout each newly-launched gym.

Contrac Lighting have provided the design, manufacture and supply of 8 branches so far, including the flagship gym at Shirebrook, as well as the recently opened Thurrock and Leicester locales.

The Challenge

The many different areas and requirements across each gym offered a great opportunity for Contrac’s design team to really get creative. Within each gym are various areas, including open-plan free workout zones, dedicated cross-fit and dances areas, as well as cafes, locker rooms, foyers and toilets. The team went through numerous internal design stages and offered a number of potential solutions for each separate area and requirement.

The Solution

The wide range of products and designs supplied is clear evidence of Contrac’s versatility. The total number of variations of the different products and solutions which made it into the final design of the entire project number well into the hundreds. A few of the product highlights include

• Our stylish Sue pendants were given custom yellow and grey paint-jobs to suit Everlast’s brand, and utilised in various areas
• Contrac supplied the Ligeo linear solution and applied it in a number of interesting ways. This is a highly versatile products, which offers different light colours and effects and can be installed standalone, or as part of a larger layout. Utilised notably in Everlast’s reception areas, in a yellow and white criss-cross pattern, and also on the floor of an open plan area to replicate track and field markings.
• The Sabre linear luminaire was supplied in warm-white with a custom-designed yellow diffuser, and implemented around mirror displays to give an eye-catching backlit halo effect.
• Among the many completely bespoke products which found their way into this project, Contrac designed a custom red wall-light solution inside the spin studios and a stylish pink and blue neon flex design, recessed into the walls of the dance studios.

Results

As you can see, the results are pretty impressive. But as well as designing solutions which fit Everlast’s design brief and offered the wow-factor they desired, the luminaires supplied are all of the highest quality, and will provide both superior quality and efficiency of light. This is in keeping with Contrac’s ethos, of offering premium design-led solutions, without compromising on quality.
