Project Overview
Following the successful delivery of a previous school project, our client once again entrusted us with the design of a bespoke lighting scheme and the manufacture of tailored lighting solutions for the Haltemprice Leisure Centre entrance area and sports halls.
The Challenge
The existing lighting was not aesthetically appealing and failed to create the vibrant atmosphere needed to modernise and enhance the entrance area. In the sports halls, the existing fittings were also unable to achieve the required lux levels for a variety of sporting activities, and the client wanted the added flexibility of a wireless dimming control system. In addition, bespoke angled brackets were required within the badminton areas to ensure the luminaires could be positioned correctly and comply with the specific requirements of the space.
With these challenges in mind, we developed a lighting scheme that not only met the required performance standards but also enhanced the overall look and feel of the facility.

We designed a complete lighting scheme and manufactured a range of luminaires, including the Rokko, Organa Sport, Lando Sport, Universal IP65, and Gravity Round Downlight fittings. To provide greater flexibility and energy efficiency, the suspended and sports hall luminaires were integrated with wireless dimming controls, allowing lighting levels to be adjusted to suit different activities and events.
To overcome the installation challenges within the badminton areas, we also designed and fabricated bespoke 45-degree adjustable brackets. These were powder coated in a white finish to seamlessly match the luminaires and maintain a clean, professional appearance throughout the sports halls.

Project Outcomes
The completed lighting upgrade successfully transformed the facility, delivering a modern and visually appealing environment while achieving the required illuminance levels for a wide range of sporting activities. The new LED lighting scheme enhanced the overall user experience, creating brighter, more comfortable spaces for participants, spectators, and visitors alike. Wireless dimming controls were integrated throughout the sports halls, providing the flexibility to adjust lighting levels for different activities and events while improving energy efficiency and reducing operating costs. Bespoke 45-degree adjustable brackets were also designed and manufactured for the badminton courts, ensuring correct luminaire positioning and compliance with sport-specific requirements. The result is a high-performance, future-proof lighting solution that combines functionality, flexibility, energy efficiency, and a cohesive aesthetic throughout the facility.
