Project Overview
Contrac Lighting collaborated closely with the consulting engineers to develop a bespoke lighting design for the refurbishment of the Royal Grammar School’s Café/ Study Hall, Entrance and Career Rooms. Following the initial design stages, we manufactured suspended architectural luminaires to deliver high-quality, tailored lighting solutions, enhancing both the dining environment and the functionality of the hall.
The Challenge
The Grammar School’s hall is a large open-plan space designed to accommodate multiple functions, including dining, lounge, and study areas. The lighting scheme was carefully considered to address these distinct zones, while working around acoustic baffles that required suspended fittings to be positioned precisely between them. At the serving counter, a bespoke rectangular luminaire was designed to fit the space accurately, providing effective illumination and enhancing the visual appeal.
